Functions it adds to our car: here is a description of the different functions, as well as videos of the different “cycles”, i.e. combinations you can choose from: 1. Welcome lights or unlock lights.
Every time you unlock your car with the remote control, the modLight2 module will start the lights for 10/15/20/25 seconds, then turn them off.
From the module’s menu you can select the interval for which the headlights will be on: 10/15/20/25 seconds, and you can also select one of 5 light options (combinations), i.e. you can choose which cycle to start when unlocking: a) Front and rear headlights.
You can also add the front halogens to this cycle.
b) modLight cycle1 c) modLight cycle2 d) modLight cycle3 2. Goodbye lights or lights on lock. Each time you lock with the remote, modLight2 will run the gauges or your selected cycle for 10/15/20 or 25 seconds.
a) Front and rear gauges.
You can also add the front halogens to this cycle.
b) modLight cycle1 c) modLight cycle2 d) modLight cycle3 3. Doublepress lock or lights when you press the lock button on your remote again. a) Follow me home or “high + halogens + reverse lights” for 10/15/20 or 25 seconds.
b) modLight loop1 c) modLight loop2 d) modLight loop3 *This feature is only available on BMWs that have a newer version of the GM module as our observation is that post-1998 cars without the servoronic are usually “new GM”. 4. Longpresslock or lights when you hold down the lock button on your remote. a) Follow me home or “long + halogen + reverse lights” for 10/15/20 or 25 seconds.
b) modLight cycle1 c) modLight cycle2 d) modLight cycle3 5. Triple Blinker This function is initiated on a single blinker signal and adds another 2/3 or 4 blinks of the blinker.
You can set from the modLight2 module menu how many flashes to add to your single.
Example: you click 1 blinker and our module adds 3 more blinkers.
The function is borrowed from the next models of BMW. 6. Cornering lights When the left turn signal is given, turn on the left halogen for 10 seconds, and when the right turn signal is given, turn on the right halogen for 10 seconds.
The function mimics the cornering lights function of newer cars, but with the halogen switched on not only when the indicator is signalled but also when turning at low speed.
There is no information in IBUS as to whether our car is turning or not, so our “cornering lights” are only activated when we turn. 7.Vehicle self-locking on engine off We all know that our BMWs can be coded to self-lock when reaching a certain speed.
Our module adds the ability for your vehicle to automatically unlock itself when you turn off the engine. 8.Self-lock when reaching 15mph If you activate this feature, your vehicle will automatically lock when you reach a speed of 15mph.
Please only use this function if your vehicle cannot be coded with BMW Scanner or NCS expert for the factory “self-lock” function. The IBUS unlocked/locked status information is rather indirect, but we have added this feature for those vehicles whose GM does not offer the auto-lock feature when speed is reached. 9. Welcome message – message/greeting when contact is made (E39/E38/E53/Range Rover big board (IKE) only). When this feature is activated, a welcome message will appear on your vehicle’s dashboard each time you make contact.
You can choose from the following popular BMW messages: BMW E39 Club; BMW E38 Club; BMW MOTORSPORT; BMW ///M5; BMW Individual BMW Performance; BMW M Performance; ///M; ALPINA; HAMANN; RACING DYNAMICS 10. Automatic mirror retraction when locked/lock button or double lock. If you activate this and your vehicle has retractable mirrors, you can set at which action you want the mirrors to retract.
You can retract the mirrors on: a) any lock from the vehicle remote.
b) holding the vehicle lock button.
c) with doublepress lock – double locking, i.e. pressing the lock button 2 times.
The doublepress lock feature is only available in IBUS on vehicles with the newer GM version, which we described above. 11. Automatic mirror unfolding when unlocked or when contact is made. If you activate this function and you have retractable mirrors, you can select which action you want the retractable mirrors to unfold: a) when unlocking b) when contact is made. 12. New feature – remote switching on the heater via the remote of our factory BMW key. The function is this: you can set the remote lock button on your factory BMW key to start the heater or the ventilation, whichever you choose, when you press it twice (more precisely, the second time).
Example: your car is outside where it’s damn cold.
You go out on the deck, press the lock button twice and your heater starts as it would if you had a factory Webasto remote.
After 15-20 minutes, you get in your car and apart from the engine being warm and ready to go, the cabin is warmed up because the heating automatically comes on at the 5th minute.
