Signed NCD 2.0 files (Secure Coding)

At the end of 2019, BMW introduced a new NCD file signing system that is significantly more secure than the previous one and is only available online for authorized dealers. The rollout started on most G Series models produced after the end of 2021 and gradually covered more and more modules. By 2023, the system, known as NCD 2.0 Secure Coding, covers 95% of modules. The aim is to prevent coding by third parties who do not have online access to the BMW network. The signing of NCD files is now only done online via the BMW network and not locally. This protection imposes certain limitations on the encryption of the vehicle compared to the previous possibilities to modify NCD files. Our team offers customers delivery of signed NCD files for vehicles with the NCD 2.0 Secure Coding protection, which allows changing the region and some settings on imported vehicles.
